God's Rescue Plan: From Salvation to Mission

God's Rescue Plan: From Salvation to Mission

Have you ever wondered whether God could really use someone like you? Whether your life matters in His big story? This message reminds us that salvation isn't the finish line-it's the starting point of a greater mission. God didn't just save you from something-He saved you for something.

New here? We'd love to walk with you. You can join us online or plan a visit to our Sugar Land or Richmond campuses.

The Good News, the Bad News, and the Great News

The Good News: You Are Loved

God created you on purpose and for a purpose. Scripture says He knit you together in your mother's womb and knows you by name. You were made to know Him and walk with Him.

The Bad News: We're Separated from God

Sin breaks our relationship with God. We cannot earn our way back or fix ourselves through religious effort. Every one of us falls short.

The Great News: God Has a Rescue Plan

Jesus stepped into our broken world to save us. As Luke 19:10 says, "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost."

In 2 Corinthians 5:21, Paul calls this the "beautiful exchange": Jesus takes our sin, and we receive His righteousness.

What It Really Means to Say Yes to Jesus

Salvation isn't about a prayer or a moment-it is surrender. We acknowledge Jesus as Lord, trust His sacrifice, and receive new life. Our identity, purpose, and future are forever changed.

From Saved to Sent: You're Part of the Plan

Sent with a Purpose

Jesus told His followers, "As the Father has sent me, I am sending you" (John 20:21). Every believer becomes part of God's plan to reach others.

Empowered to Be Witnesses

Jesus promised, "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses…" (Acts 1:8). A witness simply tells the truth about what they've seen and experienced.

What "Go" Really Means

The Great Commission

Most of us think "go" means selling everything and moving overseas. But in the original Greek, "go" means "as you go"-as you live your daily life-make disciples.

"You are the light of the world." - Matthew 5:14

Wherever you are, that's your mission field.

God's Three-Part Rescue Plan

  • He Came: Jesus stepped into our world.
  • He Sends: We are sent as His representatives.
  • He Stays: He promises, "Surely I am with you always" (Matthew 28:20).

Local and Global Mission Opportunities

Global Missions

We regularly send teams to Guatemala, Peru, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, India, and Nicaragua. Trips cost approximately $1,800 per person and are partially funded through Do Good offerings.

Your Neighborhood Matters

Fort Bend County is one of the most diverse counties in America-meaning the nations are already at our doorstep. Your workplace, your street, your school… that's your mission field.

Simple Obedience Changes Everything

In Acts 8:26-39, Philip simply obeyed the Spirit's prompting-and an entire region heard the gospel. What could happen if we listened to God the same way?

Reflection & Application

  • Have you surrendered your life to Jesus?
  • Who is already in your life that God may be inviting you to love and reach?
  • Is God nudging you toward a mission trip or a deeper step of obedience?
  • Where do you need courage to say "yes" to His voice?

Final Encouragement

A missionary once said: "When he came, there was no light. But when he left, there was no darkness." May the same be said of us.
