Bathhouses & Bars

In the Roman Empire, bathhouses were more than just places to clean up—they were the social hubs of daily life. People didn’t go just to bathe; they went to network, relax, eat, drink, and even conduct business. It wasn’t just hygiene, it was a place where people could shed their everyday stresses,The Apostle Paul picks up on this imagery when he talks about shedding our old lives like we would take off dirty clothes. He calls us to "put off" the old self—the habits, attitudes, and behaviors that don’t fit with who God has called us to be—and instead, put on the new self, created to be like Jesus.
